For some activities, besides logging the duration, you may also want to log some other information. For example, you may want to log how long distance you run during your daily jogging. Or you want to see the fees earned for each consulting hour. Using Numeric tags, you can store extra info like distances and hourly fees with the task entries, the information will then be summarised based on the type of tags.
Let’s take distance logging for jogging as example. Here we can use a Numeric tag Distance, with a subtype Sum.
To create a Numeric tag with subtype Sum:
You can input a unit like km in Additional Text, and choose a default number.
Now we can assign this tag to task Jogging.
Now when we log task Jogging, the task entry will look like below, with 5 km stored alongside of duration. We can then alter 5 km to record the actual distance.
In the end, we can pull up the sum of jogging distance for a day, past week or month in statistics.
You can use the same steps to create tags with other numeric types, and the statistics are presented based on the subtypes.
For instance, by assigning a tag with Hourly type, you can retrieve fees earned on various tasks.
