FEATURE REQ | Task + Attribute Duplication/Cloning, Import and Export

Please develop a solution to permit content import, export, and/or template cloning. This permits scaling repetitive-type tasks (think project work) for effective tracking. Additionally, a user could add/remove tasks/tags as required, leaving the WEB/phone UI for routine interaction and/or small-scale task/tag creation/manipulation. 

This feature could be part of the "PRO" feature-set. 

 

FWIW - I'll be looking for a response and/or another personal time-tracking solution if not developed. ATracker is great, however, without this feature - I'm wanting to source another technical solution. 

 

USERS - Consider upvoting/nominating the feature to help the dev team prioritize this capability!

  Thanks for using ATracker!

  Do you mean managing the tasks in another tool (e.g., Excel) and then importing them back to ATracker? We will investigate this request. We might need to change a lot of low-level ATracker code for this function.

  If the excel import option is not on the roadmap - how about duplicating a task with attributes (tags, goals, comments, etc.) - permitting the user to alter attributes prior to committing the change?

  We do plan to support duplicating tasks in the to-do list, but we haven’t finalized the design yet. Since a task can include multiple tags and goals, it’s not always clear whether the duplicated task should reuse the same tags or goals.

  For goals, we may also need to duplicate the task first and then let the user remove or adjust the goal assignment. We’re still investigating the best approach.

  At the moment, this feature is a low priority because we haven’t received many requests for it yet.
